Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 15, 2026
Who we are
CineTech Digital (“CTD”, “we”, “us”) is a video production company serving the Greater Toronto Area and Miami. This policy covers the cinetech.digital website and the CTD software suite: CTD Ingest Studio (macOS), CTD Live Studio (macOS), CTD Live Mobile (iPhone & iPad), and CTD Tally (iPhone, Apple Watch, and Android). Questions? Email us at info@cinetech.digital.
The short version
- We don’t sell your personal information. Ever.
- This website has no accounts and sets no tracking cookies of its own.
- Every CTD app runs on your own devices — no accounts, no analytics, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
- Our OBS control apps talk only to the OBS Studio you run on your own network — there is no CTD cloud in between.
- When you contact us, we only use what you send to respond to you.
The website
cinetech.digital is a static website. We do not require accounts, and we do not set our own tracking or advertising cookies.
- Contact and support forms. The forms on this site open your own email application — nothing is stored on our servers. We receive only the email you choose to send (typically your name, email address, and message) and use it solely to respond to you.
- Embedded content. Some pages embed third-party content such as YouTube videos and externally hosted images. When you load or play that content, those providers may set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies (e.g. Google/YouTube).
- Hosting logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not use these to identify or profile visitors.
The CTD apps
All of our apps are private by default. Whatever the platform, they share the same approach:
- No accounts, no sign-in. None of our apps ask you to register or create a profile.
- No telemetry, analytics, or ads. They contain no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs, send no usage, crash, or behavioral data, and we operate no server that receives data from them — there is no CTD cloud.
- No tracking. They do not track you across apps or websites and show no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because no tracking occurs.
- Your data stays on your devices. Settings, connection details, and any media or metadata live on your own hardware — and, where the platform provides one, your device’s secure keystore (Apple Keychain). Deleting an app removes its stored settings.
Because of this, the store privacy disclosures for these apps are “Data Not Collected.” The notes below cover what’s specific to each one.
CTD Ingest Studio (macOS)
A local-only DIT ingest station. Your footage, photos, project settings, videographer names, and
ingest history are stored locally on your Mac (in
~/Library/Application Support/CTD Ingest Studio/)
and on the destination drives you choose. Operator names, camera info, color settings, and
checksums are written into manifest files, Finder tags, and extended attributes alongside your
media — on your own drives, under your control. None of it is uploaded anywhere, and the app has
no accounts and no telemetry. Delete the files or the app’s data folder and that data is gone.
CTD Live Studio (macOS)
A remote-control deck for OBS Studio. Live Studio is a client: it connects only to the OBS
instance you point it at, over your own local network, using the open
obs-websocket protocol. We do not
operate that server and have no ability to see your connection or your production. Your OBS
connection details are stored on your Mac, and OBS passwords are kept in the macOS Keychain — sent
only to your own OBS server as part of the standard obs-websocket authentication handshake.
CTD Live Mobile (iPhone & iPad)
The companion remote for OBS Studio. Like Live Studio, it talks only to the OBS server you configure, over your own local network, and stores its settings — including any OBS password, in the iOS Keychain — on your device. It may ask for two iOS permissions, each only for a feature you choose to use:
- Local Network — to reach your OBS server on your network.
- Camera — only to scan the QR code OBS displays, on-device, so you can connect without typing the details by hand. No photo or video is saved or transmitted, and you can enter the details manually instead.
It does not request location, microphone, contacts, photo library, or notifications.
CTD Tally (iPhone, Apple Watch & Android)
A tally-light and scene monitor for OBS Studio. It connects only to the OBS instance you configure, over your own network, to receive scene/tally state and scene preview images. On iPhone, tally state (scene name and live/preview status) is mirrored to a paired Apple Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework and goes nowhere else. OBS passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on Apple devices and in the app’s private storage on Android (the Android build uses no Google Play Services). The camera is used solely to scan the OBS connection QR code, on-device — no images are stored or transmitted — and the camera permission is optional.
CTD Live Studio, Live Mobile, and Tally all work with OBS Studio, which is independent open-source software governed by its own terms. You run it on your own machine; we do not operate or control it, and there is no CTD server between your app and your OBS.
Email correspondence
If you email us — for a booking, beta access, or support — we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to help you and maintain our business records. We do not add you to marketing lists without your consent, and we never sell or rent your contact information.
Children
Our website and software are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you (for us, that’s essentially just email correspondence). Email info@cinetech.digital and we’ll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes to how any of our apps handle data would also be noted in that app’s release notes.
